The Hobbice is a virtual OFFICE where you can work on your HOBBY.
We build, improve and grow together.
Basically, we work on some really exciting projects. Whether it is the development of a software, application, website or anything else that we can develop or work on virtually, we want to do it all.
At the same time, we give everyone an opportunity to contribute to any of our projects about which they feel most excited or from which they want to learn something or for which they have a passion.
We intend to provide anyone (mainly university students) with an opportunity to get practical experience on some useful real-world projects in their free time to help them be prepared for the industry or just learn new technologies as well as provide a space for people to passionately work on their hobbies.
We know how difficult it can be to find the right internship or a company for experience but we also know how important it is for you to learn how to use your knowledge in real life.
At The Hobbice, you will be part of a team where some members contribute to the projects as a hobby, while the others seize the chance to learn as they go. We believe that this environment is the best to learn new technologies, meet new people, work in a team and have a lot of fun at the same time.
Definitely NOT for the money, because we do not pay the Hobbicts.
( Yes, if you contribute at The Hobbice, you are called a Hobbict as much as we would like to call you Jim, Dwight, Pam or Angela )
We are not really a company, we are a space. We do not offer jobs, we offer opportunities.
You will be joining The Hobbice for something much more valuable than money :
EXPERIENCE of working in a team
KNOW-HOW of relevant technologies
Personal and professional GROWTH
A fun place for working on your HOBBY.
We believe in teamwork. Working in a team has a lot of advantages over working individually :
Overall growth, efficiency and productivity is much faster, better and higher.
We get everyone's input. Sometimes the approach we think is the best is not really the best, and someone else's perspective helps us understand that better.
We learn new things. No one knows everything but everyone knows something.
Among many other skills we develop at The Hobbice, we consider these to be the most important:
Collaboration skills.
Communication skills.
Soft skills.
Sense of responsibility.
Step 1:

Everyone is welcome to apply for one of the available roles that they would like to take up in their free time as a hobby or as a learning, not as a job.
As long as the role is exciting for you and/or you want to learn a new technology and/or get some experience in a particular project, feel free to apply.
Submit your CV along with a few other details like motivation, etc. as per the application form for any particular projects available.
You decide when, where and how you want to work on your tasks and responsibilities.
We shall have one sync-up meeting every weekend.
If you think you cannot give enough time for the project, just let us know and you can exit anytime. You can join again later if you wish to.
You can also request for an internal move like a change of project or responsibilities at any point of time.
If you have a suggestion for the team or for the project, feel free to be open and discuss it during the meetings.
If you have new project ideas that you would like The Hobbice to start, feel free to let us know about it.
"The Hobbice, as it sounds, is inspired by the American TV series 'The Office' where a crazy team sold regular paper. I want my teams to go crazy, learn, innovate and grow. The main goal is to provide a platform for students to get some hands-on experience with useful real-world projects and to help smoothen their journey into the industry. The projects are however aimed to solve existing problems in their respective category and be free for anyone to use."
